Microsoft Trying To Steal
iPhone Developers By Offering Hefty Amount
As we reported the other day about Microsoft
announcing the roll out of Zune HD on September 15 which is a media
player and web browser much like an iPod Touch. People started
doubting how it will survive without apps, which is being considered as one of
the prime reasons for iPod Touch’s success story. But now it seems like
third-party apps are on Microsoft agenda for Zune HD. According to the recent post coming in
from John Grubber of Daring Fireball’s who got an email from a
developer of an iPhone Twitter client. The post goes like this.
After my post, I got an
email from the developer of an iPhone Twitter client. He was contacted by
Microsoft a few months ago, with an offer to port his app to the Zune in
exchange for “a bucket of money”. He turned them down, but assumes, as I do,
that Microsoft reached out to the developers of multiple popular iPhone apps.
Steve Balmer (more info), CEO of Microsoft is again going out
in hunt for the developers. Developers, developers and developers…. How
can you forget this piece of craziness? Just wait for few days and the new iPod with camera will make
Zune HD look outdated before its official launch.
